What's the deal with the penguins?
- The facts:
- How Many Penguins Are In Existence? (External Link) Says there's an estimated total of about 41,400,588 penguins globally.
This means there are about 35 penguins for every bear in the world.
- Penguins live in groups of hundreds to hundreds of thousands, compared to the relatively small groups found amongst bears.
- Some penguins can grow up to ~4.5 feet tall
- Some penguins can bite with up to 450 lbs of force
- Penguins tend to behave more aggressively when un-provoked compared to bears
- The arguments we've heard (May not be 100% factually accurate):
- "Penguins could 'Climb up a mountain and slide down on their bellies and just do an absolute pile driver on the bears'"
"Also, bears hibernate which could leave them vulnerable in the winter months."
- "Penguins live and work in groups, so they have the clear number and group tactic superiority"
- "Lots of things point to penguins, their vast experience fighting the seals, It's a war culture at this point!"
"I mean, they pushed polar bears back to the entire other side of the planet. The south pole used to be their territory, you know."
- "Emperor penguins would wreck some bears, so probably penguins"
- "But Penguins have air superiority!!"
"Just like other birds, and also children, Penguins can fly! .... I mean, if thrown hard enough, that is."
